I am feeling pretty good today, although I have to say, I'm still dealing with some fatigue. More than once today I was reading, and started to doze off. I'm going to need that to go away this week. I have way too much to do!
Today was the first day that I had to have fruit for breakfast And I did enjoy it. If you are not a fan of fruit, I think week two and three are going to be very tough for you. My husband wanted us to take the boys to lunch for their last day of summer vacation. He suggested Jasons deli, since it has a salad bar. I took the creamy garlic dressing. I had in the fridge with me into the restaurant and made a reset salad . I was really happy to be able to go out to lunch with them and still stay on the plan. For dinner I decided to keep it easy and eat leftover chicken, wild rice with some sautéed frozen vegetables. I added some cashews since I hadn't had much fat in my diet today. It was filling. I almost didn't have room for my snack, but I decided to eat it so that I would have more energy for tomorrow mornings work out.
Here's a breakdown of today's meals:
Fruit Plate (Apple, watermelon, grapes, blueberries and kiwi)
Salad with mixed vegetables and beets with a sprinkle of sunflower seeds
Stirfry veggies and quinoa brown rice with raw cashews
Apple and blueberries
Week two is also when they introduce another Daly drink called Detox. This drink has a bizarre texture, but I enjoy it nice somewhat sweet, citrusy taste. You have to drink three packets a day. For the life of me, I cannot remember having this drink three times a day in past Resets. This drink helps with a gentle cleanse and I assure you it working. I have visited the bathroom at least three times today.
Another thing you might get a kick out of is my experiment with Nature's Miracle Berry. Say what? Yes, friends, miracle berries. I am a big Shark Tank fan and I saw these magical berries on an episode. The claim was that one berry chewed up well would change your taste buds for 20 minutes and make things that are sour taste sweet. My first thought was that it might help me get down the Power Greens. It took about two weeks for the berries to get here, but they finally came today! They actually work! Now, I'm not going to say they made the Power Greens taste good, but they definitely made them bearable. When I sucked the lemon slice afterward, it was as sweet as candy. It is truly the weirdest thing. I can wait to make the healthiest, most sour smoothie I can possibly make and see how it tastes. I will be doing that this week! You can check out these berries here.
We have a lot going on this week. We are at the tail end of a master bedroom renovation and have a lot happening to prepare for the delivery of our new bed. The kids start school tomorrow. Sports, music lessons, and scouts are back on the calendar. My husband is going on a five day trip on Thursday. I have to prepare for my quarterly review at work with is next week. It's going to be a whirlwind of a week. I hope I have enough calories in me to sustain my energy. Stay tuned to find out!
